The much-loved festival Afropunk returns to London for a third consecutive year and will be taking up a week’s residency in the iconic south London town of Brixton. Known globally as the epicentre of African-Caribbean culture, Brixton is a natural fit for Afropunk whose ethos explicitly states its desire to connect across the Diaspora, creating bonds between those with a shared mindset. This year’s event will consist of a week-long, multidisciplinary offering of events within music, fashion, education, art and film and will run between September 1st – 8th. Confirmed artists so far include Jazzie B, Common, Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins.
