One summer’s evening over 1000 hairdressers and industry professionals gathered at the glitzy Battersea Evolution venue for the grand final of the L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards 2017. The awards is an annual event produced by the bestselling hair brand that celebrates professional hair colour via a live hairdressing competition, designed to inspire and showcase some of the brightest hairdressing talent across the country. This year the event was hosted by DJ and former X Factor judge, Nick Grimshaw. The charismatic host took the audience on an exciting hair inspired journey ending with the announcement of this year’s winner of the coveted trophy.
The highly-anticipated The Afro Look Award was presented by Charlotte Mensah and won by salon Nashwhite who wowed with an intricate curly ‘do featuring an assortment of coloured sections. Next, the regional winners were awarded before Linton and Mac took the judges by storm and won the ultimate prize—the 2017 L’Oreal Colour Trophy Awards.
Guests were treated to a sumptuous 3 course meal while being entertained by an enthralling hair show produced by a team of colourists whose presentation fused special effects and modern technology with stunningly crafted colour. All in all, it was an incredibly inspiring evening proving that the UK hairdressing industry is unrivalled.
